Contact Lenses

We offer all types and brands of contact lenses, specifically fitted for each individual's needs. It is very important that your lenses are fitted correctly based on your prescription, eye shape and specific needs.

Contact lenses correct your vision and are easy to wear. Choosing the contact lenses that are right for you depends on your vision and the degree of comfort sought. There are many types of contacts to suit almost anyone. Types of contact lenses include:

Soft Contact Lenses

Soft contact lenses are the most commonly prescribed due to the fact that they are extremely comfortable. Soft contacts are now available in multi focal, for astigmatism and even for overnight wear. Soft contact lenses include:

  • Daily Wear: can be worn up to 18 hours but must be removed and cleaned at night
  • Extended Wear: can be worn overnight
  • Disposable: can be worn for just one day, then discarded
  • Color-Changing: can change the color of your eyes, even if vision correction is not needed

Hard Contact Lenses

Sometimes called rigid or gas-permeable lenses, hard contact lenses offer sharper vision and can correct severe nearsightedness or astigmatism. At our practice, we offer all types and brands of contact lenses specifically fitted for each individual's needs. It is very important that your lenses are fitted correctly based on your prescription, eye shape and specific needs.

Multifocal Soft Contact Lenses

Multifocal Contact Lenses have a range of powers similar to progressive lenses, in each lens. Multifocal contacts is a catch-all term used for all contact lenses with more than one power.

Gas Permeable Contact Lenses

Gas Permeable Contacts Lenses are made of a firm, durable plastic that transmits oxygen. They offer excellent eye health because they don't contain water like soft lenses do, they resist deposits and are less likely than soft contacts to harbor bacteria.

Keratoconus Contact Lenses

Keratoconus is managed by many different contact lens designs. There is no one design that is better for every type of keratoconus. Since each lens design has its own unique characteristics, our lens fitter carefully evaluates the needs of the individual situation to find the lens that offers the best combination of visual acuity, comfort and corneal health.

Scleral Contact Lenses

Scleral Contact Lenses are noticeably larger than standard gas permeable (GP) contacts and have a diameter equal to or greater than that of soft contact lenses. The smallest sclerals are approximately 14.5 mm in diameter, and the largest can be up to 24 mm.
